Four dramas that deserve more attention
In 2020, there were more than 500 scripted television series on air according to the New York Times. 500 shows means 500 more chances to find something worth watching. But that also opens the door to the possibility that there will be a handful of shows out there that may get lost in the shuffle. Shows that could have been popular but were instead eclipsed by The Undoing, Ozark or some other insanely popular show.
To best describe these forgotten programs that have effectively been erased by some of the bigger shows that dominate networks at any given time, we’ll use the term “slept-on.” A term meant to describe the “sleepers” or underdogs of television. For me, slept-on shows are those that deserve more attention and acclaim for a number of reasons. Character development, plotting, iconic moments and believability being the four most important categories in my book.
