How to Prepare for your Internship Interview with a Fortune 50 company
Four tips to help you slay your interview and secure your dream job
Let me be clear. I have never dreamed of labor. However, I learned quickly that society does not reward the unemployed or otherwise unoccupied. I figured if I must “make a living,” I could at least do so at an establishment that I liked/loved or working on issues I was passionate about.
This was top of mind when I began searching for internships in the fall of my junior year. There were tons of companies out there offering internships for the summer, but I knew I had no interest in fetching coffee or organizing files. Been there, done that.
I still applied for these roles, in the hopes that even if I didn’t secure another opportunity, I’d have options. However, I still set my sights on internships at a few bigger companies. Most of these companies were distinguished as Fortune 500, which is a fancy term used to describe the most prosperous and progressive organizations in the world. I aimed low on the ladder, mostly applying for roles in the mid 300s-low 400 range.
